Chocolate chip cookies were something my dad and I always baked together. When taking the photos I focused on the ingredients to symbolize the fact that it was the process and the time spent together that made chocolate chip cookies so special. I collaged cookie recipes in the background to represent the amount of recipes we experimented with in order to find the perfect one.

For my 12th birthday I asked my dad to bake me a rainbow cake and, to my surprise, he said yes. He made the cake with my favorite frosting and star sprinkles. I glued actual sprinkles and crushed sprinkles to make the painting more interesting. In the background I wrote what remembered about that day.

Idea: I decided to go with pumpkin muffins as it was close to Halloween when I was working on it and it was something I baked with my dad instead of trick or treating.
Media: I took a photo of the muffins and used citrisolv to distort the image. I also added oil pastel in the background. Process: I printed many copies of the image and practiced different methods with the citrisolv. |
Idea: My dad had bought 87 acres of land in Alabama for me and my siblings as a fun place to spend our summer days.
Process: There was a lot different things to take photos of at the land. I wasn't sure what would look best or match my overall concentration theme the best. Media: I used photography because I thought it was the best way to capture the land. |
